What is your Football IQ?
Two quick quizzes: read the game (decisions and space) and manage the game (strategy and planning). Both are really about how you think. Count down to kickoff and play.
Read the game: perception, space and split-second decisions.
You are clean through on goal. The keeper rushes out and commits to your right. Best option?
What these quizzes actually measure
Behind the football are two layers of cognition. Read the game is perception and decision-making in the moment: spatial awareness (where the free space and free player are) and pattern recognition (reading a press or a formation). Manage the game is the strategy layer: planning, anticipating the opponent, and weighing trade-offs under constraints, which is closer to executive reasoning. That is why a quiz about football is really a quiz about how you think. It is for fun, not a measure of your IQ or your playing ability, and we keep that honest.

Frequently asked questions
What is a Football IQ test?
It is a short cognitive quiz set in football situations. Instead of trivia, it asks you to read the game: where the space is, the smart pass in a 2-versus-1, when a keeper has committed. It practises decision-making, spatial awareness and pattern recognition, with a football skin.
Is this real football knowledge or just for fun?
A bit of both, and we are honest about it. The questions use genuine game logic, but this is a fun cognitive quiz, not a scouting assessment or a measure of your playing ability. For a proper read on your reasoning, take the full cognitive test.
Does a high Football IQ mean a high IQ?
No. This quiz is a themed, lighthearted way to practise reasoning and reading space. It is not an IQ measurement. Our six-domain cognitive test is the real estimate, and even that is an educational estimate, not a clinical score.
When does the World Cup 2026 start?
The tournament is scheduled to open on 11 June 2026, hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The countdown on this page ticks down to kickoff.
